Become a Poll Worker

Louisiana needs you.

The global pandemic has made it more difficult to find individuals who are willing to work the polls. Importantly, a shortage of poll workers could result in precinct closures, longer lines, and disenfranchised voters. To avoid the closure and consolidation of polling locations across Louisiana, it is essential that there are enough poll workers to help administer the state's elections.

The easiest way to become a poll worker in Louisiana is to follow these steps outlined on the Secretary of State's website. To qualify, you must complete and print the Poll Commissioner Application and send it to your parish Clerk of Court or to the Secretary of State's office.
